AT&T and the NBA Legends

I recently just saw the new AT&T commercial with NBA Legends Larry, Magic, Bill and Kareem during the NCAA championships and I thought it was perfect product placement with a simple yet witty storyline.  Even though we are in Canada, I thought it was great to see the four NBA’s legends all in one commercial.

New York Loving

Carmelo Anthony from the New York Knicks has surpassed his all-star buddy Lebron James as the most popular jersey sales list.  Anthony is the first Knick to be at the top of the list since 2001 – 2002 season.  Who would have thought Lebron “The King” James would be dethroned.

Louisville Cardinals wins the NCAA Championship!

Congratulations to the Louisville Cardinals for winning the NCAA Championship against the Michigan Wolverines.  It was a close game as the Cardinals edged out the win 82-76.  This is head coach Rick Pitino’s third title and what a way to top it off as he was elected into the Hall of Fame this week as well!  Can’t wait to see if they can repeat as champions next year!basketball-ncaa

Danny Granger Done for the Season

Indiana Pacers all-star Danny Granger will have season-ending knee surgery.  Granger was out most of the season rehabilitating his left knee, but saw no improvement and will now go under the knife.  Luckily in his absence, Paul George has stepped up to be the teams new face of the franchise and will put questions whether Granger will be back with the team in the upcoming season

Kobe System!

Kobe Bryant has now surpassed Wilt Chamberlain for the fourth place on the NBA’s all time scoring list with their 103 – 98 win against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night.  Bryant is playing through bone spurs in his foot as he will not give up since the last stretch of the season is here until the playoffs.  The Los Angeles Lakers are now tied for the last and final playoff spot with the Utah Jazz.  Check out Bryant’s historical night below.

No More Rudy?

The Toronto Raptors are considering shutting down their leading scorer Rudy Gay for the rest of the season.  Gay re-injured his back during friday night’s game against the New York Knicks.  This would be a tough break for the Raptors that will add to another dismal year of not making the playoffs.

Miami Still Streaking!

The Miami Heat are still on their historic run of consecutive wins.  They will face off against the Charlotte Bobcats tonight aiming to win 26 straight.  Even though Miami has bought their way to the top, I hope to see them break the 33 straight game winning streak set back by the Lakers.heat

Miami Heat Extends Their Streak to 22 Wins

The Miami Heat faced off  against the Toronto Raptors Sunday afternoon at the ACC. Lebron James, Dwayne Wade & Chris Bosh combined for 64 points in their 108 – 91 win over the Raps.  The Miami Heat have now tied the second longest winning streak ever in NBA history with the Houston Rockets set back in 2007 – 2008.  Will the Heat be able to beat the longest streak ever at 33 games set by the Los Angeles Lakers in 1971 – 1972 season?

Kobe Bryant Goes Down

Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles went down with a severe ankle sprain in the dying seconds against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night.  After a 96-92 loss,  Bryant was furious telling the reporters, “He Jalen Rose’d me,” referring to Dahntay Jones.  He stressed in his 17 great years, this was only the second time ever for a defender to pull a dirty move to undercut a shooter and giving him no space to land.  Knowing Bryant and his pain tolerance, he will come back sooner than later as he is hungry for a championship.  nba_r_kobe-ankle_mb_600
